Pinterest: a different social!

“What’s Pinterest? Pinterest helps people discover the thing they want to plan, buy and do.

That’s how the social network is presented on its main page.
We can think Pinterest as a great search engine, which returns the results of what we are looking for through images, the Pin precisely. Pins are bookmarks that network users store in their Boards, collections organized by topic that allow you to connect with users with similar interests. A Pin can be anything, it can be born from sharing a content on another user’s wall or, through the button “Pin it!“, it can be inserted in the network directly from an external site.
Socials are most popular in America and the UK. Statistics show that the average user is a woman with an income of about $50,000 a year. Users of Pinterest are very active, with fast and intense content sharing. The pins quickly become viral.

Why then, choose Pinterest?

Because Pinterest is the only social network where users expect images of the products they are looking for, with price tags and many of them are ready to buy. Pinterest is therefore a great opportunity for companies specializing in retail. It is also an excellent springboard for all those companies that want to open up their market to English-speaking countries and for those who want to increase brand awareness, i.e. to raise awareness of their brand.

How to make the most of the network?

First try to understand what your customers appreciate about your site, what are the most visited pages and topics. So try to understand what your competitors are doing and start creating your own Boards, which must contain unblurred images, with a good perspective and the right size. As always, the contents must be original and of quality. You will have to show your products, what inspires you, the suggestions you want to give your customers and share such content to promote your brand and your site.your main goal is to create traffic to your site. To channel users to the pages of your website you just need to insert the link in the pins of your boards. Remember that the links contained in Pinterest are indexed by search engines.transform your site by inserting images that can be rebranded and that populate your board. Put a preview of your bulletin board and call to action on your site to engage visitors, such as asking questions and mentioning followers to ask for their opinion.

Pinterest owes its strength to images, as long as they are significant and inherent to the company’s core business. The difference with others? The lack of verbal interaction, you may wonder why a company already started should move towards a marketing plan made of social. The right question would be, why not do it? We’ve come to a point where being present on multiple channels and designing a cross promotion is essential.
